Belongs to the group of gas-discharge lamps where xenon serves as starting resp. filling gas. Light is generated by a skipped light-arc between two differently loaded pins. Advantages: Doubled light output compared to halogen lamps, long life cycle and low energy demand. Bi-xenon and bi-halogen head lamps create low and high beam out of one source.
